First thing this morning I left my home to be confronted by a creeper which seemed to be emitting some odd purple sparkly bits from its behind.
I've no idea what was going on with that and the thing detonated shortly after so I didn't get a chance to investigate further. It had a friend who emerged from the trees minus the purple sparkly bits. This one I dispatched myself.
And then I was off. Off on my daily walk. Along the long, long coastline of this randomly generated world that may one day lead me back to where I began. But not today. I was moving deeper into unexplored territory. I could often see the far shore but it was never dotted with my marker stones.
The landscape was unremarkable today, apart from a couple of features I passed. One was a ravine that looked explorable, but was on the far bank.
The other was a large exposed-stone area with a suspiciously dark cave in one side.
Even as I got close it remained almost pitch black, with just the barest glimmer of light far inside.
Disappointingly, it turned out to be a bug, because as soon as I placed a torch it revealed an uninteresting tunnel.
I was soon back into plain desert lands and the sun was setting, so I carved myself a hole in the ground to spend the night in. I used the hours of darkness to dig out a tunnel and gained myself some additional iron ore and possibly too much cobblestone.
The sound of spiders greeted the morning sun...
